Endless hours of recording distorted basses have resulted in the realisation that often, in the end a t-screamer-like distortion will be mixed with the clean signal. To make this sound available for live use Priapos was built.
The
pedal splits your signal in two - you end up with a clean path and a
distorted one. In the distortion path the signal is split again into
highs and lows where only the highs are distorted. This provides an
open distortion tone without being compressed to much. The "low" pot
lets you dial in the amount of undistorted low end signal whereas the
"high" pot acts like an ordinary tone pot. The "blend" pot then mixes
the clean and the distorted signal paths. To provide enough power even
for low output passive basses a booster - labeled Z hi/lo - has been
integrated. For 5-string players a bass enhancing "lo" boost provides
sufficient low end to make Priapos rumble along nicely.
